The High Sheriff of Shropshire for 2011-12 has chosen to support Severn Hospice as his preferred charity for the year
Severn Hospice cares for people who are living with complex and progressive illness. The aim is to sustain the quality of their life and to provide relief from pain and other distressing symptoms.
It is neither to shorten nor to extend the length of a patient’s life. Because incurable illnesses affect whole families the hospice offers the same loving support, help and counselling to their families, friends and carers.
Since opening the hospice has cared for over 16,000 patients and now cares for approximately 2500 patients each year.
