The Under Sheriff

Peter Stewart

Peter Stewart was born in Montgomery in 1944. He and his wife Carolyn have two daughters, Imogen who is married and is a teacher and Eloise who works at the National Gallery.

Peter was educated at The Old Hall School, Wellington, Shrewsbury School and at Queens’ College, Cambridge where he read Law.

He has recently retired as Senior Partner with the firm of Wace Morgan in Shrewsbury with whom he remains as a Consultant.

Peter is a Trustee and Vice Chairman of The Severn Hospice Board and is involved as Trustee with a number of Charities in the county.

As a previous Chairman of both the Shropshire Cricket Association and Shrewsbury Cricket Club, Peter has always maintained a keen interest in sport.

On his appointment as Under Sheriff he said “It is a great privilege to be appointed Under Sheriff. I look forward to supporting the High Sheriff in whatever way I can during his Shrieval year”.
